Welcome to Walton and District Indoor Bowls
Club which is situated in the celebrated seaside town of Walton on the
Naze. The Club uses part of the Town Council's superb premises known as the
Columbine Centre which also has a full size theatre/gymnasium and refreshment
and bar area.

Walton
Backwaters
The centre is set back
some 200m from the sea front with the Walton Back Waters to the rear of the
site. In addition to the ample car park there is a large grassed area where
families can relax particularly at high tide.
The relaxed welcoming
entrance area to the Centre leads through to the refreshment lounge and the
club's four bowling rinks.
The extensive artificial "day light"
Iilumination provided to the 35 metre rinks gives a warm welcome to all who use
these well run facilities.
The Club is a friendly privately run bowls
club with just under 400 members. With a few exceptions, the rinks are in use
13 hours a day and 7 days a week for County matches, club competition, casual
play, and coaching.

Four 35 metre
rinks
We have a good number
of qualified players to coach new members and umpire matches. The club has
enjoyed success since it was founded in 1992 and continues to welcome new
members as well as visitors to the area.
A Public Open Day is held each
year in mid September for non-players to get a feel for the sport. Many of the
members play outside during the summer so the club has two programmes, one for
the winter and a lighter one for the summer. Included in the social programme
are fun to raise money for charity.
The age group of the membership
reflects the area in that it is predominantly retired but the club is planning
to expand into other age groups as Indoor bowls is a sport with plenty to offer
for all ages and abilities.
